Capturing the moment (3)
This is inspired by a request in the forums for sports/action photography resources.
Unplanned moments.
Sometimes you may see a moment that is totally unexpected.
The main thing is to have your camera ready to shoot and most importantly be very alert to what is happening around you..
Some examples:
(1) At a motor racing event. All the action is not necessarily on the track or field.
(2) Here I was shooting sail boat racing on a river. This Cormorant was nearby and was diving for fish. It didn't take long before he was successful. When the boats approached he flew off with his catch.
A lot of techniques for shooting birds and sport are very similar
(3) Whilst on vacation. We were having breakfast in a cafe that had a good view of the street. Inspired by some of the great French street photographers.
(4) A few minutes latter. Being such a high contrast scene it was difficult to good a good colour version. Beside I like the feel of B&W sometimes.
